PROMO works to ensure strong relationships with elected officials, in particular those in the State House, State Senate, and Statewide offices. That is often times easy in major metropolitan areas such as Saint Louis or Kansas City, but dropping a note to your legislator makes an incredible difference. This makes a particularly stronger impact if you live in a smaller city or in a rural environment. Notes to legislators from people like you send a powerful message -- one that we already know -- there are LGBT individuals and supporters in every county of the great State of Missouri.

PROMO is Missouri's statewide organization advocating for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender equality through legislative action, electoral politics, grassroots organizing, and community education. We identify LGBT rights supporters, educate them on the issues, give them the tools and the confidence to participate in the political process, and get results. PROMO's goals are to help LGBT Missourians create a supportive and visible community, become active in the democratic process, and work for their equal protection under the law. We build community awareness and grassroots support for LGBT equality and increase civic participation of LGBT Missourians.
