LGBT History Month: Pamela Merritt

Pamela is a feminist blogger, known as Shark-Fu, at AngryBlackBitch.com. She is the Communications Director at Progress Missouri. 

Pamela Merritt has been a staff writer for RH Reality Check, a contributor to the Shakespeare’s Sister blog, and a featured contributor on National Public Radio’s (NPR) “Tell Me More” with Michel Martin. Her work has been published in the Chicago Sun-Times, on Salon.com, Guardian and featured in Salon.com’s Broadsheet. Pamela served as PAC Chair for PROMO PAC, and has been a mentor through Big Sisters and taught various classes at several shelters in St. Louis, Missouri.  She has worked and volunteered for Planned Parenthood in Missouri for years. Pamela is a member of Center for American Progress Women’s Health Leadership Network and Trust Black Women Partnership. She is a long time advocate of the LGBTQ movement and continues to do so at Progress Missouri.
