QTPOC, which stands for queer and trans people of color, is a program of Metro Trans Umbrella Group. Since its founding, QTPOC has worked to highlight racial injustices within the LGBT community not just across the nation, but also in our own backyard in Missouri.

At Saint Louis PrideFest this year, QTPOC held a powerful funeral procession during the parade and festival, highlighting the discrimination and violence that the transgender community has been subject to. QTPOC has monthly meetings for LGBTQIA and persons of color-identified individuals to connect, discuss, and build a community. Their work has been transformative for the Black Lives Matter and Trans Lives Matter movements in Missouri.

⇒A big thanks to QTPOC for creating awareness and educating Missourians on the countless issues that trans people of color face.
