Yesterday, voters across the state and across the country went to the polls and voted in what was arguably one of the most important elections in recent history. Much of the results are difficult to process.
In Missouri specifically, we lost a number of incredible allies and champions, and I know that hurts. Deeply. But we also retained and gained a number of allies who are ready to do everything they can to make Missouri the best place it can be for LGBT individuals and families.

None of this work is over. I know you may need some time to hold your families and friends tighter and breathe, or perhaps mourn. Take that time to recharge and refill. But then we need you. The only way we lose is if we give up. We know we are on the right side of history, even if it may take a little longer to get there, and even if parts of the path to equality and justice is now unknown.
PROMO is here to support you in any way we can, with referrals to resources, support to change your name or gender marker, as well as information about protection from discrimination. And we will always be your voice in Jefferson City.
We need your heart, your strength, your voice, your support. We will never give up, and we need you alongside us in this work. At PROMO, we always say that we don’t have any enemies. We just have people who aren’t yet our friends. And now we have a few more friends to make in 2017.
Thank you to everyone who voted. 2017, we’re ready for you.
