Top Moments of 2014

The year 2014 had its up and down moments. Here were the highs of 2014.

1. Springfield, Missouri passed a comprehensive nondiscrimination ordinance

2. Missouri ranked 6th in the nation and 1st in the Midwest for hospitals that qualify as ‘Leaders in LGBT Health’ in the 2014 Healthcare Equality Index issued by the Human Rights Campaign.

3. Nearly 47 Missouri hospitals added 105 new LGBT welcoming policies to their core values. Based on this PROMO created an interactive map of LGBT inclusive hospitals for people to check out.

4. Legal marriages happen in Missouri for the first time at St. Louis City Hall, Jackson County, and St. Louis County.

5. Three major court victories as Show Me Marriage campaign moves forward.

6. The MOWorkplaceEquality.com is launched and over 600 businesses support the Missouri Nondiscrimination Act.

7. SEMO passes nondiscrimination protections based on sexual orientation and gender identity for their employees and students

8. The inaugural Transgender Spectrum Conference at UMSL had over 300 attendees.

9. University of Missouri System adds Gender Identity and Gender Expression to their Nondiscrimination Policy
