Sunday, April 23, 2023 @ 4 Hands Brewery
9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
This year’s legislative session is the most dangerous we’ve seen in recent history. There are 31 bills moving within the Missouri State Capitol making up 20% of the country’s total anti-LGBTQ+ legislation. The primary target of these bills are transgender Missourians banning kids, as young as kindergartners, from playing team sports and revoking access to medically necessary, life-saving gender-affirming care. These attacks send a clear sign that using trans bodies as political pawns is the top priority of the Missouri Legislature.
On Sunday, April 23, from 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m., LGBTQ+ supporters, business and community leaders, legislators, and Missourians from all backgrounds will gather as an act of resistance to stand in solidarity and strength with our trans siblings and celebrate the work of multiple Champions for Equality. These champions will be awarded for their continued dedication and committment to the LGBTQ+ community through leadership, partnership, advocacy, and action.
Join us in sharing delicious breakfast food from Honeybees Biscuits & Good Eats, an open bar with brunch cocktails served by 4 Hands Brewery and 1220 Spirits, and an address from our Executive Director, Katy Erker-Lynch, about the difficult challenges of this legislative session and where we go from here as a community.
