Because LGBTQ older adults are less likely to have traditional family structures, and more likely to experience social isolation as they age, the COVID-19 pandemic has been especially hard on them compared to their cisgender and heterosexual peers. Accessing the vaccine may be a unique challenge without computer access, particularly without a family member to help navigate the process.
On April 27th and 28th, we’ll make phone calls to LGBTQ older adults across the state to find out what they need in their own words, and invite them to join the SAGE of PROMO Fund community.
The conversations you have will help SAGE of PROMO Fund follow up with our LGBTQ older adults across the state with life-saving resources and referrals.
Sign up to make calls to your peers on April 27th and/or April 28th from 4-7pm!
A note on logistics: A computer with Zoom is necessary to participate in this phone outreach effort. A full training on how to use our phone call software will be provided via Zoom at the start of the event. If you feel hesitant or uncomfortable using a computer for this volunteer event, please contact Molly at molly@PROMOonline or 314-604-0077, and we will work together to make arrangements!
