PROMO @HOME – Virtual LGBTQ Equality Rally with Lori Lindsey
Tuesday, April 28, 11:00 am
As the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread, Missourians across the state are left vulnerable to the deep consequences of the virus. Among the most vulnerable populations includes our LGBTQ community whose vulnerability is made worse in a state without nondiscrimination protections. PROMO is playing a critical role in making sure our communities and leaders understand the importance of protecting all LGBTQ Missourians during this time and in the future.
PROMO’s Virtual LGBTQ Equality Rally is our chance to rally with fellow Missourians to hear first-hand stories from national and local leaders who are creating change and taking action together!
Join us with Lori Lindsey, former professional soccer player for USWNT, currently a soccer analyst for the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), Major League Soccer (MLS) and ESPN. Along with Rep. Greg Razer (Kansas CIty), Rep. Crystal Quade (Springfield), Rep. Tracy McCreery (St. Louis), and Sen. Brian Williams (St. Louis).
This year, Missouri saw more anti-LGBTQ bills than any other state in the country that sought to rollback marriage equality, attack transgender youth, and erase our LGBTQ community. These 19 anti-LGBTQ bills made it impossible for pro-equality bills like the Missouri Nondiscrimination Act to move forward.
It’s time for us to share our stories and why now more than ever, we need to uplift LGBTQ stories in our communities. Join us online with Lori Lindsey, champion lawmakers, and PROMO staff on April 28th. Get a legislative update, hear why sharing your story matters in creating change, and learn how to use your personal story as a tool to reach equality. After our virtual rally, we will be taking 3 easy actions to collectively share our stories for LGBTQ equality!
We’re hosting our virtual rally on Webex. All you need is an internet and device like a computer or phone. Registration is required––we will send a link and a password to join shortly before the our rally starts, so watch your email a few minutes before we begin!
Together let’s make space for #MOEquality on April 28!
