The HIMM Project

The HIMM Project (HIMM) is a community-based initiative focused on HIV education, prevention, and treatment in the KC Metro among men who have sex with men— whether they identify as gay, bi, straight, curious, pansexual, or something else.

Whether someone is HIV[] or HIV[+], HIMM believes that everyone has a role to play in HIV prevention.

Through open and honest sex-positive conversation, HIMMprovides information about HIV prevention and treatment options while working to reduce the stigma of living with HIV.

HIMM isn’t here to judge anyone.  Our goal is to ensure our community has the knowledgetools, and resources to empower them to make informed decisions about their sexual health.

HIMM advocates for:

  • Regular HIV Testing
  • Healthy Sex
  • PrEP and PEP as Prevention
  • Treatment as Prevention (TasP)

HIMM provides free condoms and lube, information, and testing around the KC Metro at local LGBT bars and community events, KC college campuses, at Kansas City CARE Clinic’s walkin testing clinic, and through mobile testing.
