Is your life or someone else’s life in immediate danger, contact 911 right away.

If this is NOT an emergency you should take the following steps:

1. Contact your local police department.

  • Columbia, Kansas City, Springfield, St. Louis City all have specific community liaisons in the department.
  • You can find your local police department here.

2. Tell us your story, you can also contact us at 314-862-4900 if you do not feel safe calling the local authorities. 3. Lastly, contact the local FBI. ***If you have a negative experience or face harassment from your local police department contact us at 314-862-4900 or the ACLU of Missouri at (314) 652-3114. If you or someone you know if facing harassment or violence, it is important to tell someone. This is especially the case if the harassment or violence is happening on an ongoing basis. Harassment and violence, particularly when it is fueled by bias and anger, can escalate quickly, and it is important intervene as early as possible. Your safety is incredibly important. As always, we value your confidentiality and will never share your name or identifying information without your explicit permission. Additional steps you can take include filing a claim with ADL and the Southern Poverty Law Center.
